What Kind of Exercise?

crop4JPG There are different kinds of exercises for different desired outcomes.

What is most important is that we want to have a healthy and strong heart or cardiovascular health. As we grow older, our arteries become less flexible. In fact they become stiff or harden.

This results in changes to our blood pressure, thus stressing out our hearts.

To avoid this, we need to exercise to get our hearts pumping. So the younger people can opt for aerobic exercises while the older ones will need to take brisk walks. By brisk walking I mean walking at a pace where you feel your heart beating strongly and you work out a sweat. It’s not the type of slow strolling. That will not help you.

This is why I walk nine holes on the golf course, pulling my own trolley along the undulating terrain which gives me a good workout as my partner and I walk very briskly. We usually complete our nine holes in less than one and a half hours!!

So go on, get started. Walk for thirty minutes each day, increasing each week and walk briskly. If you are fit, you can jog or run. 1181363_woman_jogging_blurIt’s even better.

Those who can do aerobics, good for you. Keep at it and you will have a strong healthy heart.
