Our feelings have a lot to do with our eating habits.
Some of us eat when we are under stress. I know I do. I eat to make myself feel better, especially chocolates which give me a boost..
Has anyone felt better after eating chocolates? Chocolate is a comfort food.
Nibbling also enables me to concentrate on the task at hand, just like some people need to smoke to focus on what they are doing.
So if we are not mindful of the amount we eat, we will soon put on weight, especially when we are sitting down most of the time doing our work.
So how do we avoid this? We have to set a limit. For example, we tell ourselves that half a bar of chocolate is the maximum and that’s it. No more.
As for nibbling at work, a solution is to set a time frame for the task at hand, e.g. take no more than half an hour to complete the task. That means nibbling for half an hour only and nibble in minute amounts. Allow yourself a small packet instead of a big one.
Slowly wean from these habits by cutting down on the amount consumed and substitute with drinking green tea or water with a slice of lemon in it. This is very refreshing and reduces food cravings. A small change in eating habits will help you to lose weight
