What is your Ideal Weight?

tassie rosefarmmeHi,

So far we’ve talked how to lose weight but do you know what your ideal weight should be?

Here’s how to determine your ideal weight.

For a woman who is only five feet tall, her weight should be 100 lbs.
If you are taller than 5 feet ( how lucky!! I wish I were 5 ft 6 in. ), then you should add 5 lbs for every inch over 5 ft. E.g. if you are 5 ft 3 in. tall your ideal weight is 115 lbs.

However, if you are less than 5 ft tall, then you should minus 5 lbs for every inch below 5 ft. So if you are 4 ft 11 in, your ideal weight is 95 lbs.

You should also take your body build into account. Are you a small frame, medium or large frame?

You can find out by measuring your wrist. If your wrist is exactly 6 inches, you are of medium frame and there is no need to adjust your weight according to the above calculation.

If your wrist measurement is more than 6 inches which means you have a large frame, then you need to add 10% to your ideal weight. However, if your wrist measures less than 6 inches, you have to minus 10% from your ideal weight as you have a small frame.

The calculation is similar for a man whose height is exactly 5 feet. His ideal weight is 106 lbs. For every inch about 5 ft, he would have to add another 6 lbs.

A man can find out whether he is of small, medium or large frame by measuring his wrist too. If his wrist is exactly 7 inches, then he is of medium frame and does not need to adjust his ideal weight calculation.

If his wrist measures more than 7 inches, then he has to add 10% more to his ideal weight as he has a large frame. Conversely, if his wrist is less than 7 inches, he has a small frame and has to adjust his ideal weight by subtracting 10% from it.

So you can begin to check out what you should weigh and make adjustments to your food intake, Remember, if you eat more than what your body requires, the excess will be stored as FAT.

The trick is never to eat until you feel full.
