Constipation is the result of eating disorders or bad eating habits.
What can you do if you are constipated?
Many people opt for laxatives and enemas to get rid of the faeces that have clogged their bowels and are giving them great discomfort. However this is not advisable as in the long run you will become dependent on these chemicals.
The best thing to do is to change your eating habits. Reduce intake of fatty food and eat more fiber-rich food such as wheat, bran and psyllium husks. Drink lots of water to prevent hardening of stools. There must be sufficient moisture to ease the passage of faeces through the colon.
Do not hold back the urge to “go”. You should answer Nature’s call when the urge is there. If you hold back, your bloodstream might have reabsorbed some of the toxic wastes. The moisture is also reabsorbed, leaving the stools hard and dry, thus making your bowel movement difficult and painful.
When you eventually pass motion, you may not have evacuated completely so some faeces will remain in the colon and become impacted over time.
If colon cleansing is not done in due time, then you will suffer from toxic poisoning caused by the reabsorption of waste into the bloodstream, contaminating the blood, reducing your immunity and exposing you to greater risk of disease. Another side effect is overweight. Once your system is clean, your absorption of food nutrients improves and you will lose weight.
